Poems p.2

Peace, Man
I’m quick to run, hide.
Back away from trouble.
Being non-confrontational,
As the teacher said.
I only want peace,
Everywhere.

A City by the Sea
I was a city by the sea -
Lost until now.
Unexplored, buried beneath the rubble
Of my life.
Unwalked avenues spread
Through my soul,
My heart filled with pumice
From the volcano
Hardened to the realities around me.
Then, from somewhere, came you,
The explorer.
And brick by brick, stone by stone,
You uncovered me, found me
Naked and alone.
And walked my streets.
And melted my heart of stone.

—Published Snakeskin Magazine, May 1997

Coming to Me
This is how I want you to come to me,
Charged, fully erect
No diluted energy, no
Spent fluid into any other vessel.
For my intensity is taut,
Wired like the depth charge,
Explosive, going down.
